I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State with over 10 years’ experience working with individuals, couples and families. I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Lafayette College, Easton, PA and a Masters of Social Work from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. I was inspired to become a therapist by my own personal journey through infertility when I was a part of a women’s support group. The group, led by a therapist, changed my life by empowering me to move forward and not give up. This ultimately resulted in me having the family I dreamed of. And now I am working in the career I dreamed of. I am passionate and committed to my work and enjoy giving the same support I received, to others who are experiencing life challenges, stress and setbacks. Hope is the catalyst for change. By instilling hope, you can move forward and make the changes you need to live the life you want.
I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the ability that we all have to adapt and make positive changes and live a happier life. If you are experiencing excessive worry, depression, relationship/family challenges, ADD/HD, infertility, parenting concerns, stress or other issues that are making you feel off balance, I believe you have the power to make changes and create a path to healing.
The change starts with our work together. I will provide a confidential, safe place where we can talk in depth about your situation and concerns. We will then be able to determine what your needs are, and make a plan to improve your life. My approach to treatment is tailored to your specific needs. Using a strength based foundation, I integrate other evidence based methods such as cognitive behavioral and solutions focused therapies, among others.
I welcome the opportunity to speak with you for a free 15 minute consultation where you can discuss your specific concerns, ask questions, and if you feel comfortable, schedule a time to meet. You can or email me at liz@lizwestermanncounseling.com or 516-279-3803. Let’s begin the healing process together.
